The exchange rate is £1 for KHR4936 (Cambodian Rial).

We are looking for a group of 6 plus the two of us (Ken and Justin) organising this tour. We will do group activities as stated but there will also be time for individuals and couples to do their own thing at each place we will stay.

Days 6-11 23/04-28/04/17     Explore Sihanoukville

cambodia-pics-3Sihanoukville is a seaside resort with a choice of 7 different beaches, with fantastic sea food. We will visit, fish markets, Kbal Chhay Cascades (& take a dip in), we will also take a day trip to Kampot to see pepper farms. Night life is loud and plenty of bars and nightclubs to visit for the party animals.

We will stay at the small seaside town of Krong Preach located on the Eastern tip of Sihanoukville having access to 4 long beaches, Independence beach, Serendipity beach, Occheuteal beach and Ottres beach.  Cambodian and Vietnamese islands are just offshore.  There’s not much to do here as in activities other than swimming, snorkelling, relaxing, eating sea food. We will organise optional visits to nearby fish markets, Kbal Chhay Cascades for cool dip, and Kampot. It’s such a hard life! Somebody’s got to live it.

We will also visit the Island of Koh Tonsay (or Rabbit Island) for a day trip. Koh Tonsay is located about 4.5 Kilometers southwest of Kep (which is about 5 kilometres from Krong Preach). Tourists are drawn to the two beautiful white sand beaches. The sea here is shallow and has a long slope, making Koh Tonsay excellent for swimming, snorkelling etc. At the sea bottom area a variety of corals, sea animals and plants which attract researchers and ecologists.

Day 12-14    29/04/17-01/05/17  Get bus to Battambang

battambangGet a bus from Sihanoukville to Battambang (8 hours drive) and check into our accommodation at Lux GuestHouse (breakfast not included)

City dates from the 11th Century and it’s the major rice producing part of Cambodia. Battambang has Sangkae river running through it. It’s tranquil, picturesque and refreshing.

We will take the Bamboo train while in Battambang, it’s one of the world’s all time unique rail journeys going from Battambang to Osra lav over pristine terrain, tall bridges taking 20 minutes each way with a half an hour stop over at Osra lav.

Day 15    02/05/17                 Get slow boat to Siem Reap (8-10 hours)

There is a fantastic boat ride on the river from Battambang to Siem Reap, but this depends on the water levels in the river. If the river is low unfortunately we will have to make the journey by bus which takes much less time.  But let’s hope the rains have arrived by May.

Boat leaves at 7am, we will hire a boat entirely for ourselves
